Traffic Operator

About the role

The Traffic Operator will manage daily transport planning, coordination and monitoring to ensure deliveries are executed safely, efficiently and on schedule. Acting as the central link between drivers, customers and internal teams, you will oversee live operations and address any issues that arise.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate transport jobs to drivers and vehicles.
• Communicate job details, timings and requirements clearly to drivers.
• Monitor live transport movements and respond to delays or incidents.
• Liaise with customers regarding collections, deliveries and status updates.
• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams as needed.
• Maintain documentation such as PODs, EPODs and job records.
• Escalate breakdowns, incidents or service issues appropriately.
• Keep accurate records of daily transport activity.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a traffic, transport or logistics role, preferably handling containers.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Clear communication skills with drivers and customers.
