Trainee 7.5T Delivery & Installation Driver

About the role

Join The Sofa Delivery Company as a Trainee Driver and take part in a 12‑week in‑house Driving School programme. You will start driving a 3.5‑ton van and, once qualified, upgrade to a 7.5‑ton licence and a permanent driver role.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver furniture safely and professionally to customers’ homes.
• Communicate delivery times to customers before arrival.
• Place items in the room of choice and ensure no rubbish is left behind.
• Collaborate with team members and senior managers to improve service standards.
• Represent the company’s values and those of brand partners at all times.
• Follow health, safety and compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Willingness to undergo training for a 7.5‑ton licence.
• Ability to pass medical assessments, theory and hazard tests.
• Customer‑focused attitude with good communication skills.
• Availability for a 4‑on, 4‑off shift pattern (7 am – 7 pm).

Required skills

• Valid driving licence (or eligibility to obtain a 7.5‑ton licence).
• Capability to operate a 3.5‑ton van safely.
• Basic health and safety awareness.
