Trainee Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Accountant to join PCI’s finance team. Working fully on‑site, you will support day‑to‑day finance operations, assist with month‑end close and help ensure compliance with accounting standards and HMRC regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the company cashbook and allocate cash transactions.
• Process accounts receivable and payable, raising and handling over 150 invoices/credit notes each month.
• Prepare HMRC‑compliant import documentation and liaise with internal and external contacts.
• Perform reconciliations to the general ledger and support month‑end closing activities.
• Provide financial information to corporate finance and assist with forecasting, budgeting and intercompany reporting.
• Update and analyse monthly revenue, assist with external audit and stock reconciliation.
• Prepare general accruals, pre‑payments and ensure compliance with international accounting standards.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives within finance processes.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification in a financial discipline.
• Honest, trustworthy and analytical mindset.
• Customer‑focused, self‑motivated and conscientious.

Required skills

• Advanced competence in Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate competence in Microsoft Word.
