Trainee Auditor – Full‑time Apprenticeship in Steyning

About the role

TC Group, a fast‑growing top‑20 UK accountancy firm, is seeking a full‑time Trainee Auditor for its Steyning office. This apprenticeship will allow you to work towards a formal accountancy qualification while gaining hands‑on audit experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the audit team in planning, executing and finalising audit assignments.
• Prepare analysis of accounting data from clients' books and records.
• Obtain and review documentation to support audit opinions.
• Support the audit manager in ensuring compliance with internal methodology and external regulatory requirements.
• Identify client needs, propose initial solutions and communicate them to the audit manager.
• Build relationships with new and established clients and undertake ad‑hoc assignments as required.
• Travel to local and national client sites on a regular basis.

Required profile

• Positive “can‑do” attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grade 4 or above) and A‑Levels in Mathematics, Business or Economics, or an AAT‑equivalent qualification.
• Logical approach with good numeracy.
• Own car and a full driving licence.
