Trainee Bus Driver – Full‑time (Hemel Hempstead)

About the role

Join Arriva’s Hemel Hempstead depot as a Trainee Bus Driver and become the face of public transport in your community. You will receive full paid training, earn your PCV licence and start delivering a vital service to commuters, shoppers and schoolchildren.

Key responsibilities

• Operate buses safely and on schedule across designated routes.
• Transport passengers, including commuters, shoppers and schoolchildren, to their destinations.
• Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers and handling enquiries.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues.
• Follow health, safety and regulatory procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 6 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test and an English comprehension assessment.
• Strong people skills and the ability to work flexible shift patterns, including early mornings from 04:00.
• Willingness to undergo full training and mentorship.
