Trainee Bus Driver – Full‑time/Part‑time

About the role

Join Newbury & District, a historic public‑transport operator in West Berkshire, as a Trainee Bus Driver. You will be based at the Greenham depot and work flexible hours, either on a fixed roster or part‑time during school terms.

Key responsibilities

• Operate modern buses safely and on schedule, delivering a high level of customer service.
• Assist passengers with boarding, alighting and ticketing where required.
• Maintain cleanliness and comfort of the vehicle throughout the shift.
• Follow all health, safety and regulatory procedures, including DBS checks.

Required profile

• A valid, clean car driving licence.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and a can‑do attitude.
• Willingness to undergo training and obtain a CPC qualification.
• Ability to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Required skills

• Safe driving techniques.
• Basic vehicle inspection and reporting.

• Hourly rate of £12.98 during training, rising to £15 (Mon‑Fri) and £17 (Sat/Sun) after qualification.
