Trainee Bus Driver

About the role

Join Arriva’s Harlow depot as a Trainee Bus Driver and start a career serving your local community. You will receive full paid training, obtain a PCV licence, and progress to a qualified driver role, helping commuters, shoppers and schoolchildren reach their destinations safely.

Key responsibilities

• Operate buses on assigned routes once qualified, adhering to safety and timetable standards.
• Provide courteous customer service, assisting passengers with enquiries and special needs.
• Maintain accurate journey logs and complete required post‑journey paperwork.
• Participate in ongoing CPC training and occasional overtime shifts.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid UK driving licence held for at least six months with no more than six penalty points.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing and an English comprehension assessment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to work rotating shifts starting as early as 04:00.
