Trainee Credit Controller

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Credit Controller to join our finance team in Edinburgh. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers full training and the chance to develop a career in accounting and finance within a respected business advisory firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding payments.
• Monitor aged debt and identify potential payment risks.
• Allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts accurately.
• Prepare and issue client statements and support account communications.
• Monitor client credit limits and escalate concerns when necessary.

Required profile

• Work experience or academic background in Accounting and Finance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Professional telephone manner and high‑quality email communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
