Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner

About the role
This full‑time trainee position is part of the North Cumbria Mental Health Support Team (MHST). You will work across schools in Whitehaven, Egremont, Workington, Cockermouth, Keswick, Maryport and Solway, delivering early, evidence‑based mental health interventions for children and young people.
Key responsibilities
- Provide low‑intensity mental health support in school settings.
- Deliver evidence‑based early interventions to improve emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with NHS England services and local school staff.
- Participate in a fully funded Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training programme.
- Contribute to the expansion of MHST services across North Cumbria.
Required profile
- Motivation to pursue a career in child and adolescent mental health.
- Willingness to undertake university‑level training starting October 2026.
- Commitment to evidence‑based practice and safeguarding standards.
- Ability to work effectively in school environments.
