Trainee Export Clerk (Air Export)

About the role

This position is a full‑time trainee role within a specialist freight forwarding company located near Heathrow. You will support the Air Export team by handling shipments, liaising with customers and internal teams, and ensuring cargo reaches its destination on time.

Key responsibilities

• Handle customer queries related to Air Export services.
• Arrange cargo collections and coordinate with the warehouse.
• Create Air Freight documentation such as HAWB and MAWB.
• Book space with airline carriers.
• Complete HMRC export entries.
• Send pre‑advice to destination offices for inbound export shipments.
• Provide clients with shipment status updates (track & trace).
• Perform billing, general admin and file management.

Required profile

• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure secure handling of cargo.
• Willingness to learn air export processes and documentation.

Required skills

• Experience with Air Freight documentation (HAWB/MAWB).
• Knowledge of HMRC export entry procedures.
