About the role
Join the British Army as a Trainee Intelligence Analyst and become a subject‑matter expert on a country or threat. This full‑time entry‑level position offers hands‑on training, field patrols with infantry, and the chance to influence senior decision‑makers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop expertise on a specific nation or enemy threat.
- Patrol with infantry units to collect and analyse local information.
- Produce written intelligence reports for officers and politicians.
- Support senior commanders in strategic decision‑making.
- Operate in high‑security environments from unit headquarters to government departments.
Required profile
- Age between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months.
- Pass a basic fitness test.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A‑C/9‑4 in English Language plus four other subjects.
- Numeracy Level 2 minimum.

- Starting salary £27,282 per year, rising to £35,310 after Phase 2 training.
- 38 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and additional leave after operations.
