Trainee Maintenance/Cleaning Operative – Field Based

About the role

We are looking for a motivated trainee to join our client’s facilities team on a field‑based basis. You will work across various client sites in Southend‑on‑Sea, supporting maintenance and cleaning activities while receiving on‑the‑job training.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to client locations with a supervisor to perform assigned tasks.
• Clean and maintain ventilation systems.
• Clean extractor fans.
• Clean, refurbish and maintain water tanks.
• Adapt to varying shift patterns, including days, evenings and nights, while being paid for a standard 37.5‑hour week.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence (supervisor will drive the van, but you may need to meet other supervisors).
• Willingness to work hands‑on and get dirty.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces.
• Flexibility to work different hours and shifts on a day‑to‑day basis.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £12.71 – £13.50.
• Full‑time contract with 37.5 paid hours per week.
