Trainee Psychological Well‑being Practitioner – NHS Cambridge & Peterborough

About the role

This full‑time trainee position offers a pathway into the NHS Talking Therapies programme, delivering evidence‑based support for people experiencing anxiety and depression across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. You will split your week between university study and a clinical caseload, working both on‑site and from home.

Key responsibilities

• Provide stepped‑care interventions for mild to moderate mental health problems.
• Manage a clinical caseload of patients under supervision.
• Attend two days per week of university training at the University of Essex.
• Work three days per week in the NHS setting, including remote days.
• Participate in team meetings and continue service delivery during university breaks.

Required profile

• Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Commitment to complete the university training course and obtain PWP accreditation within three months of qualification.
• Eligibility to work for the NHS and willingness to undergo a probationary period.
• Ability to work flexibly across office and remote environments.
