Trainee Recruitment Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our Hemel Hempstead office. You will support the full recruitment lifecycle, build relationships with both clients and candidates, and develop commercial awareness in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their hiring needs and business objectives.
• Source candidates via job boards, social media, networking, referrals and direct search, screen and interview them against client requirements.
• Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment process from vacancy briefing to offer acceptance, including advertising, interview coordination and onboarding support.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, generate leads, conduct client meetings and work towards individual and team revenue targets.
• Maintain accurate records in the ATS, ensure compliance with employment legislation and produce regular recruitment reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, sales or business development.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Commercial mindset with a target‑driven attitude.
• Professional, customer‑focused and resilient under pressure.
• Desirable: sector experience (IT, Finance, Healthcare, Engineering), knowledge of employment law and recruitment best practices.
