Trainee Sales Executive

About the role

Our client is seeking an ambitious newcomer to start a career in freight and logistics sales. No prior experience is required and full training will be provided from day one. You will join a commercial team and gradually take ownership of customer relationships and sales activity.

Key responsibilities

• Learning the essentials of the freight and logistics industry, including key terminology.
• Getting to grips with internal operating and quoting systems.
• Communicating with customers, suppliers, and overseas agents.
• Preparing quotations and following up on sales opportunities.
• Building customer relationships and developing commercial instincts.
• Supporting the wider team with day‑to‑day admin and operational tasks.

Required profile

• School or college leaver who is personable, driven and motivated to build a long‑term career in freight.
• Excellent communicator, especially on the phone, organised, punctual and able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook and professional email writing.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Competent typing with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to research information online.
