Trainee SEND Teacher – Lead Creative SEND Class

About the role

This position offers an unqualified teacher or experienced HLTA the chance to lead a small, specialist SEND class in a forward‑thinking Creative Academy in North West London. You will own the classroom, delivering creative, child‑centred lessons while supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH and communication difficulties.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons tailored to individual SEND needs.
• Lead a small SEND class, managing behaviour and fostering independence.
• Collaborate closely with the SENCO, therapists and support staff.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to promote confidence and joy in learning.

Required profile

• Unqualified teacher or HLTA with strong SEND experience.
• Excellent behaviour management and classroom leadership skills.
• Calm, caring, energetic and passionate about every child’s potential.
• Ready to take the next step in a supportive, dynamic school environment.
