Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant – Level 3 Apprenticeship

About the role

Join a supportive secondary school in Bushey as a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant. You will work with KS3 and KS4 pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties.
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and subject‑specific interventions.
• Implement support strategies from EHCPs and behaviour plans.
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and classroom inclusion.
• Help teachers prepare lessons and learning resources.
• Deliver targeted revision and intervention sessions.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
• GCSE Maths & English at grade C/4+ preferred.
• Not currently enrolled on another government‑funded course.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check (support provided).
• Commitment to an 11‑month apprenticeship.
