Trainee Teaching Assistant – Swindon (Supply)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join schools in Swindon as Trainee Teaching Assistants on a supply basis. The role is ideal for candidates who want to gain classroom experience across primary, SEND or secondary settings, starting as soon as possible or in September.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities.
• Assist pupils with learning tasks, providing one‑to‑one or small‑group help.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow school policies on safeguarding and health & safety.
• Prepare and organise learning resources under teacher guidance.

Required profile

• Minimum commitment of two working days per week.
• Willingness to travel within a reasonable distance of Swindon.
• Interest in working with children in primary, SEND or secondary settings.
• Positive attitude, reliability and a desire to develop a career in education.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills are required; training will be provided.
