Trainee Technician – Engineering & Construction Testing

About the role

An entry‑level opportunity for a motivated individual to start a career in the engineering and construction testing sector. Full training is provided and no prior experience is required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with long‑ and short‑term engineering and construction testing projects.
• Support daily on‑site testing, laboratory work and yard‑based activities.
• Develop practical, technical and reporting skills under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
• Travel nationwide to client sites and occasionally work at the Ellesmere Port testing facility.

Required profile

• College‑level qualification or understanding of electrical, mechanical or structural engineering (desirable).
• Willingness to learn new skills and strong time‑management.
• Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office/365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Full, valid UK driving licence (6 points or less, no active convictions).
• Ability to work away from home and travel nationwide.
