Trainee Traffic Operator – Transport Department

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Traffic Operator to join our Transport department in Reading. You will receive full training and support as you assist our Traffic Operators and Planners with day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Brief and debrief drivers on daily assignments.
• Perform general office administration, including paperwork filing.
• Assist Transport Planners with monitoring trailer counts and yard checks.
• Seek additional work opportunities from planners and management.
• Communicate effectively with customer‑service teams and drivers.
• Maintain a tidy workstation and uphold health & safety standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport or a similar environment (preferred, not essential).
• Competent IT skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Personable, team‑oriented and detail‑focused.
