Trainer – Learning & Development

About the role

Black Sheep Coffee is looking for a passionate Trainer to support the development of its store teams across England. Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, you will deliver hands‑on training, support new shop openings and ensure consistent learning standards throughout the business.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging training sessions for baristas, supervisors, Head Baristas and store managers.
• Provide on‑site training support during pre‑opening phases of new stores.
• Deliver onboarding programmes that embed brand culture, values and operational standards.
• Develop tailored training plans for promotions, skill development and performance improvement.
• Ensure 100% completion of e‑learning modules on Mapal and Flow, tracking progress with Operations Managers.
• Conduct store visits, observations and audits to identify skill gaps and provide corrective coaching.
• Collaborate with the Learning & Development Content Creator to update manuals, e‑learning modules and other resources.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience delivering training in a retail or hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to design and deliver onboarding and development programmes.
• Strong collaboration skills with Operations Managers and L&D teams.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and brand compliance.
