Training Assessment & Assurance Manager – Aviation

About the role

The Training Assessment & Assurance Manager will lead a team responsible for designing, developing and assuring assessment materials for the next generation of Royal Naval Aircraft Engineers. This role supports adult learners pursuing Level 4 or Level 5 qualifications in Aeronautical Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and assure the quality of assessments for avionic and mechanical aircraft engineering systems.
• Oversee the production of assessment activities aligned with MOD standards and University of Portsmouth accreditation.
• Coordinate with training delivery staff to ensure assessments meet promotion and certification requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to assessors, ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Monitor and report on assessment outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Significant experience in aviation or aerospace engineering.
• Proven ability to lead and develop assessment teams.
• Formal training in assessment methods (provided) and preferably a teaching qualification such as a Certificate in Education.
• Strong understanding of military air engineering curricula.
