Training & Competence Supervisor (Financial Advisers)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading national IFA firm to strengthen its Training & Competence (T&C) function. The successful candidate will supervise a panel of financial advisers, ensuring their competence and regulatory compliance in line with FCA and Consumer Duty requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor advisers under the firm’s T&C scheme, including file reviews, observations and competency assessments.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Assess adviser competence and make recommendations for sign‑off, accreditation and supervisory requirements.
• Identify training needs and contribute to the design and delivery of development programmes.
• Maintain accurate T&C records, management information and support onboarding and induction processes.
• Assist with implementation of FCA regulatory changes, Consumer Duty expectations and industry best practice.
• Participate in adviser development meetings and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Training & Competence role within an IFA environment.
• Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty and T&C requirements.
• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent.
• Proven ability to assess adviser competence and deliver effective coaching.
