Training & Competence Supervisor

About the role

Join a leading national IFA firm as a Training & Competence Supervisor, overseeing the competency, development, and regulatory standards of financial advisers across the UK. You will ensure the firm’s T&C Scheme meets FCA requirements and Consumer Duty expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor a panel of financial advisers in line with the T&C Scheme.
• Conduct file reviews, observations and competency assessments.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Assess adviser competence and make recommendations for sign‑off, accreditation and supervisory needs.
• Identify training needs and contribute to the design and delivery of development programmes.
• Maintain accurate T&C records and management information.
• Support onboarding, induction and competency sign‑off processes.
• Assist with implementing FCA regulatory changes, Consumer Duty requirements and industry best practice.
• Participate in adviser development meetings and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a T&C role within an IFA environment.
• Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty and T&C requirements.
• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent).
• Proven ability to assess adviser competence and provide effective coaching.
