Transactional Financial Controller

About the role

The Transactional Financial Controller will own the full Accounts Payable, Billing, Credit control, working capital management and banking operations across the group, while leading finance system automation and optimisation. This hybrid role is based in London and includes line‑management of teams in London and Porto.

Key responsibilities

• Full management of Accounts Payable, Billing and Credit control functions, including team leadership and quality control.
• Oversee all banking and expense transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and appropriate controls.
• Own working capital management, planning and execution of payment runs and end‑to‑end purchase order processes.
• Drive DSO performance improvement, set cash collection targets and manage AR ledger reviews and aged debt escalation.
• Lead finance systems optimisation, reviewing and enhancing NetSuite integrations with Moss, Precoro, Abacum, Salesforce and QV.
• Support finance transformation initiatives such as a unified Source‑to‑Procure solution and maintain finance systems governance.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong grounding in financial controls and reporting.
• Experience managing a team of direct reports across multiple locations.
• Proven stakeholder management skills across finance, technology and business functions.
• Solid understanding of financial operations, accounting principles and working capital management.
