Transition Manager – Pension Risk Transfer

About the role

M&G is seeking a Transition Manager to lead the end‑to‑end transition of Defined Benefit pension schemes within its Pension Risk Transfer division. You will work closely with clients, operations, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth data migration and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the transition of buy‑in schemes into the business and from buy‑in to buy‑out, including attaching DC benefits.
• Oversee data verification and post‑sales pricing processes.
• Perform data validation and quality assurance checks, collaborating with Operations and clients to resolve issues.
• Participate in external sales presentations and support the Origination team as needed.
• Develop and own transition plans with clients and internal teams.
• Serve as the primary internal contact for scheme‑related queries.
• Work with Operations to resolve complex queries and own residual risk due‑diligence.
• Support new initiatives and propositions across the team.

Required profile

• Strong relationship management and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in data analysis, validation, and quality assurance for Defined Benefit pension schemes.
• Knowledge of financial services and insurance, particularly pension de‑risking, longevity swaps, and investment solutions.
• Proven experience with due‑diligence processes and data transitions between pension schemes and insurers.
