About the role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Transport Administrator to support the efficient operation of our client’s transport department. The role involves coordinating deliveries, managing documentation and ensuring smooth communication between import operations and planning teams.
Key responsibilities
- Perform administrative and clerical duties to support daily transport operations.
- Act as the primary liaison between Import Operations and the planning team, coordinating delivery requirements.
- Contact customers to arrange and confirm delivery bookings, balancing requirements with fleet capacity.
- Schedule delivery appointments with fleet planning and route optimisation to maximise vehicle utilisation.
- Process, prepare and verify all transport and delivery documentation.
- Manage discrepancies, exceptions and overages, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor delivery performance and proactively address delays to minimise customer disruption.
- Collaborate with customers, drivers, warehouse teams and other operational departments to maintain a continuous freight flow.
Required profile
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Previous experience in transport administration or logistics (preferred).
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency with transport management systems.
