Transport Controller

About the role

As a Transport Controller in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of transport operations from our Warrington hub. The role ensures that goods are dispatched efficiently, deliveries arrive on time, and the logistics team runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate drivers and monitor compliance with transport regulations.
• Track deliveries, identify and resolve any delays or issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities and performance metrics.
• Communicate with internal teams and external suppliers to coordinate shipments.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and propose solutions.
• Ensure all transport activities meet health and safety standards.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider logistics team as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transport or logistics operations, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams and suppliers.
• Proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving operational issues.
