Transport Development Auditor

About the role

Our client’s Transport Development Team is seeking a Transport Development Auditor on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will act as a compliance checkpoint across all sites, influencing standards and supporting operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine transport audits across all sites, including 28‑day and quarterly reviews.
• Prepare for audits remotely using approved systems and conduct on‑site visits as required.
• Verify Earned Recognition standards for drivers and vehicles before site visits.
• Collate audit findings and provide clear, structured feedback to stakeholders.
• Present audit outcomes and recommendations to site teams and area leadership.
• Create and maintain audit records in line with DVSA and ISO standards.
• Identify training and development needs for site transport teams.
• Support succession planning by highlighting future transport talent.
• Ensure audits are delivered consistently, fairly and within agreed timeframes.
• Contribute to wider Transport Development initiatives and projects.
• Keep up to date with legislative changes and industry best practice through continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office packages.
• Professional Competency in Transport Management (CPC) – desirable.
• Experience managing processes in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong understanding of Operator License obligations – desirable.
• Experience using TACHO master – desirable.
• Proven ability to analyse data, collate information and influence stakeholders.
• Experience creating efficient systems and ways of working.
• Confidence creating and delivering content across a range of transport topics.
• Ability to influence through data and insight at all organisational levels.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £34,500 and £38,500 per year.
