Transport Manager

About the role

The Transport Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the company’s fleet. Working a 10‑hour day shift, Monday to Friday, the role is based in the Heathrow area and reports to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Operator Licence data to satisfy the Office of the Traffic Commissioner and DVSA.
• Manage vehicle planner, documentation and routine preventative maintenance with workshops.
• Enforce the company’s VOR policy and review maintenance processes.
• Monitor driver defect reports, tachograph data and mileage compliance, providing training where needed.
• Control weekly WTD reporting and deliver statistics to senior management.
• Communicate updates on training, qualifications and legal requirements to the driver population.
• Enter and keep up‑to‑date data on the RHA portal and fleet maintenance spreadsheets.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a transport department handling HGVs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with two other Transport Managers.
• Preferably holds or is progressing towards a CPC qualification.
• Valid UK driving licence for cars and light commercial vehicles.

Required skills

• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) – current or in progress.
• Class 1 driver qualification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of trucks and trailers.
• Proficiency with vehicle operator licence data entry and maintenance planning.
