Transport Manager

About the role

As the Transport Manager you will own and be accountable for the transport and dispatch function within the AAH branch, ensuring performance targets are met within defined financial and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Service Excellence – manage and motivate the transport and dispatch supervisory team and staff.
• Manage Costs and Drive Efficiencies – control all cost distribution lines, analyse value for money and implement efficiencies.
• Fleet, Safety, Legislation & Internal Compliance – ensure required internal and legislative compliance levels.
• Support Branch Senior Management – act as a key figure in the senior management team to achieve branch success.
• Plan for the Future – anticipate change and develop proactive strategies.
• Develop the Team – ensure team members have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to optimise performance.

Required profile

• Experience with transport systems, audit trails, vehicle scheduling, ePOD and telematics.
• Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for National Haulage.
• Proven track record running multi‑site multi‑drop van delivery and HGV trunking operations.
• Customer‑focused background in high‑demand, flexible service industries.
• Minimum 5 years of transport management experience, including CPC for multi‑drop and HGV operations.
• Financial awareness of branch budgets and transport cost management.
• Experience leading large driver teams across multiple sites with strong communication skills.
