Transport Operation Planner – Route & Delivery Coordination

About the role

We are seeking a Transport Operation Planner to manage daily route planning for a fleet of around 20 vehicles, delivering over 200 orders each day. You will work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer‑focused deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily routes, considering vehicle capacity, driver hours, speed limits and customer requirements.
• Communicate routes and special instructions to drivers and arrange alternative transport when needed.
• Support the operations team with compliance activities, driver debriefs and resolution of delivery discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation in line with audit requirements.
• Collaborate with fish production and warehouse teams to align transport plans.

Required profile

• Prior experience in transport route planning is advantageous but not essential.
• Good knowledge of UK geography, roads and HGV/van legislation (e.g., OLAT).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional phone manner.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, multitask and follow procedures accurately.
