Transport Operations Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Transport Operations Supervisor to join a well‑established passenger transport operator in the South West. The role is hands‑on and vital for keeping daily services safe, reliable and efficient while supporting drivers and coordinating operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of transport services, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate drivers, vehicle movements and resources to maintain service continuity.
• Monitor live operational issues such as delays, road disruptions, breakdowns and vehicle changeovers, responding promptly.
• Maintain accurate operational records including driver hours, attendance, mileage and compliance documentation.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports and escalate safety concerns when required.
• Liaise with drivers, customers, contractors and internal teams, providing operational and administrative support.
• Supervise the cleaning team and uphold day‑to‑day operational standards.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport operations or a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Full UK Category B driving licence and good geographical knowledge.
