Transport Operator – Morning Shift (CB09)

About the role

We are looking for a Transport Operator to join our Stead House Distribution Centre in Darlington on a morning shift (6 am‑2 pm). The role forms part of a 5/7 working pattern, includes weekend duties and occasional lone‑working, and supports the smooth flow of goods through the centre.

Key responsibilities

• Issue correct delivery instructions to drivers and de‑brief them after each trip.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations to ensure seamless loading and dispatch.
• Liaise with the planning team, providing information and recommendations.
• Monitor vehicle and trailer service schedules, arranging maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accurate administration records and KPI data.
• Act as first point of contact for stores regarding schedule changes or issues.
• Deliver effective shift handovers and support the Transport Manager and Team Leaders.
