Transport Planner – Colnbrook

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our client’s busy and growing team in Colnbrook. The role is ideal for someone with strong UK transport planning experience who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily routes for drivers across the UK.
• Prepare accurate and competitive transport quotations for customers.
• Allocate vehicles and drivers to maximise utilisation.
• Liaise with drivers, briefing and debriefing them on routes.
• Monitor deliveries, collections and driver progress throughout the day.
• Handle last‑minute changes or issues quickly and calmly.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours, tachograph rules and transport legislation.
• Maintain accurate records, schedules and reports.
• Support fleet management tasks, including MOT scheduling and vehicle maintenance.
• Use transport management system software confidently.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner or in a transport/logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations.
• Good IT skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Customer‑focused, reliable and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What we offer

• Salary up to £35,000 per year.
• Full‑time permanent role, Monday‑Friday.
• Rotating shifts between 8 am–7 pm with on‑call duties every fifth week.
