Transport Planner

About the role

Our client, a specialist in fine-art shipping, is seeking an experienced Transport Planner for its Middlesex branch. The role involves coordinating the movement of high-value artworks across the UK, ensuring efficient, safe and compliant transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily transport operations for collections, deliveries, installations and removals.
• Optimise vehicle routes and allocate resources to maximise efficiency while meeting artwork handling, security and environmental standards.
• Coordinate driver schedules, vehicle availability and specialist installation teams.
• Monitor transport activities, respond to operational changes, delays or customer requests, and provide regular updates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate transport documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UK transport regulations, driver-hours legislation and company procedures.
• Track vehicle movements and support fleet planning and maintenance scheduling.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or fleet scheduling.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Good knowledge of the UK road network.
• Problem-solving and decision-making capability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (and other Microsoft Office applications).
