Transport Planner – Temporary (2 months)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to support a leading freight and logistics company that specialises in perishable goods and healthcare products. The role is temporary (minimum 2 months) and involves planning, monitoring and optimising daily transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Brief and debrief drivers at the start and end of shifts.
• Plan and optimise daily delivery and collection routes.
• Allocate work and manage driver resources effectively.
• Monitor fleet utilisation, compliance and operational performance.
• Ensure vehicles and drivers meet legislative and company requirements, including tachograph and working‑time rules.
• Handle operational issues, delays or route changes throughout the day.
• Liaise with drivers, customers and internal teams to maintain smooth service delivery.
• Track delivery schedules, meet agreed time windows and manage exceptions with contingency planning.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a transport planning role.
• Strong knowledge of route planning and transport compliance.
• Understanding of drivers’ hours, tachograph regulations and relevant legislation.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Good geographical knowledge and strong communication skills.
• Experience in the air‑freight industry is desirable.
