Transport Service Coordinator

About the role

Veolia is seeking a Service Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day transport service delivery in Dewsbury. You will allocate work to vehicles and routes, liaise with drivers and customers, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily service delivery, dynamically allocating work to vehicles and routes.
• Communicate status updates to customers, stakeholders and drivers.
• Conduct debriefs with front‑line staff and report actions required.
• Engage face‑to‑face with drivers to resolve on‑route issues.
• Report safety concerns, container damage and enforce ‘stop the job’ when necessary.
• Ensure on‑site legal compliance (WTD, O'Licence, transport regulations).

Required profile

• Understanding of transport compliance and Waste Transfer Documentation (WTD).
• Strong communication with drivers, frontline staff and customers.
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace.
• Experience working with a quality management system such as ISO.
• Proven IT competence and adaptability to Google operating systems.

Required skills

• Experienced IT skills, including proficiency with Google operating systems.
• Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
