Transport Supervisor – Purton

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to join a well‑established organisation in Purton. You will work closely with the management team to oversee daily transport activities, support drivers and ensure compliance across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, health and safety requirements, tachograph management and vehicle defect reporting.
• Plan and optimise daily vehicle routes to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Monitor driver performance, attendance and productivity, providing coaching and support where required.
• Investigate vehicle incidents, accidents and employee conduct issues.
• Liaise with drivers, operational teams and customers to maintain service levels.
• Oversee vehicle, equipment and site standards to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain accurate transport documentation, reports and compliance records.
• Assist with credit control processes and support wider business performance objectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Transport Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Fleet Supervisor, Transport Planner or similar operational role.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance and driver management.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across multiple departments.
• Experience managing and motivating teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy when completing reports and documentation.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach to problem‑solving.

What we offer

• Competitive salary up to £36,000 per annum.
• Full‑time permanent contract, 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑17:00.
