Transport Team Leader – Logistics Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Team Leader to manage daily transport operations and lead a team of drivers in a fast‑paced logistics environment. The role is temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent after a successful 12‑week period.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily transport operations and supervise drivers during assigned shifts.
• Liaise with planners, dispatch, and warehouse teams to ensure timely movement of goods.
• Monitor deliveries to ensure schedules are met and support shunting and delivery station activities.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and transport regulations.
• Track vehicle movements using GPS tracking systems.
• Conduct end‑of‑shift debriefs and handovers.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a transport or logistics environment.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage real‑time operational challenges.
• Familiarity with DVSA compliance regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS tracking systems.
• Knowledge of DVSA compliance regulations.

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £17.32.
• Temporary contract with potential permanent placement after 12 weeks.
• Shift patterns: Sun‑Thu 11:30‑20:00 (changing to 13:30‑22:00) or Tue‑Sat 03:30‑12:00 (changing to 05:30‑14:00).
