Treasury Assistant – 12‑month temporary role

About the role

We are looking for a Treasury Assistant to support a North Shields‑based business for a 12‑month temporary assignment. The role starts immediately and involves handling cash flow, treasury processing and reconciliation across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily cash flow and perform cash posting activities.
• Download, process and allocate bank statement transactions using Excel.
• Prepare reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Investigate and resolve cash allocation queries, obtaining remittance information as needed.
• Collaborate with finance colleagues and other departments to meet month‑end deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and respond to treasury‑related queries.
• Maintain treasury documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in treasury, accounts, finance assistance, cash allocation or a similar transactional finance environment.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Required skills

• Excel (including lookup functions and handling large data volumes).
