Trust Doctor (GPVTS/ST1+) – Emergency Medicine

About the role

Newham Hospital is recruiting two Trust Doctors (GPVTS/ST1+ equivalent) to join a high‑acuity inner‑city Emergency Department serving a diverse and socio‑economically deprived population. The posts are based on an SHO‑level rota, offering exposure to a wide range of adult and paediatric emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Work across the full spectrum of the Emergency Department, including adult and paediatric emergency medicine.
• Participate in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and both adult and paediatric Clinical Decision Units.
• Manage undifferentiated, high‑risk presentations such as major trauma, medical and surgical emergencies, infectious diseases, mental health crises, and social vulnerability.
• Collaborate with the Royal London Hospital Major Trauma Centre and the dedicated Paediatric ED.

Required profile

• Medical qualification with GPVTS or ST1+ level experience.
• Eligibility to work within the NHS and hold a valid GMC registration.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity emergency environment.
