Trust Doctor (ST1-2) – Hospital at Home

About the role

We are seeking an ST1‑ST2 Trust Doctor to join the Hospital at Home service at the Royal United Hospitals (RUH) in Bath. The role starts on 5 August 2026 and runs on a fixed‑term basis until 31 March 2027, providing high‑quality, community‑based care to patients in their own homes.

Key responsibilities

• Visit patients at home to assess, manage and coordinate their care.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop and implement patient pathways.
• Participate in rehabilitation planning, discharge arrangements and ongoing follow‑up.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the MDT.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work as an ST1‑ST2 doctor in the UK.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within an MDT.
• Valid UK driving licence; car ownership is preferred.
• Willingness to work standard weekdays (8 am‑6 pm) and a 1:4 weekend rota, with time taken back during the week.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of acute and chronic conditions in a community setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
