About the role

We are recruiting seven Trust Grade Registrars to join the Anaesthesia and Critical Care departments of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. The role offers a unique chance to work across three hospital sites – Northwick Park, Ealing and Central Middlesex – within one of the largest intensive care and anaesthesia services in North West London.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the resident on‑call rota for Intensive Care and Enhanced Care across all three sites.
• Act as the senior resident registrar within the Critical Care service, supported by an on‑call Intensive Care Consultant.
• Assess, investigate and manage critically ill patients with respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, renal, metabolic and infectious pathologies.
• Provide anaesthesia and analgesia for elective and daytime CEPOD surgery under direct supervision of an allocated Anaesthetic Consultant.
• Undertake pre‑operative assessments and deliver post‑operative care in the recovery room.
• Advise surgical and pre‑operative teams on patient preparation for surgery.

Required profile

• Established experience in Intensive Care Medicine.
• Capability to function as the senior resident registrar in a consultant‑led critical care service.
• Willingness to cover out‑of‑hours duties primarily within Intensive Care and Enhanced Care.
• Commitment to work across three hospital sites and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
