Trust Tax Assistant Manager

About the role

Join a leading independent tax and accounting advisory firm in the North West as a Trust Tax Assistant Manager. You will work within a growing team of advisors delivering high‑quality tax and compliance services to personal tax clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts and estates.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit personal tax returns and trust tax returns, ensuring all required data is collected.
• Administer estates and prepare related accounts.
• Manage compliance with the Trust Registration Service, including preparation of Inheritance Tax event forms.
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and respond to enquiries from HMRC, third parties and clients.
• Support the tax and trust management team with ad‑hoc compliance and advisory tasks.
• Conduct technical research on legislative changes and keep knowledge up to date.

Required profile

• ATT or STEP qualified (or part‑qualified) – ideal.
• 3‑4 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to trust work.
• Flexible, adaptable and tenacious with a proven track record of delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and a professional, integrity‑driven approach.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK personal tax legislation and trust regulations.
• Experience preparing tax returns, estate accounts and inheritance tax documentation.
• Ability to research and interpret complex tax legislation.
