Tutor – 1:1 Support for Children & Young People (Part‑time)

About the role
Spencer Clarke Group is recruiting part‑time tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 support for children and young people in Widnes and surrounding areas. The role involves flexible sessions in pupils’ homes, libraries or community venues, helping learners overcome barriers and achieve positive educational outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide GCSE Maths and English tuition, as well as Functional Skills instruction.
- Deliver SEN & SEND support and SEMH interventions.
- Support literacy, numeracy development and educational re‑engagement.
- Conduct sessions in a variety of settings, adapting to each learner’s needs.
Required profile
- Qualified teachers, tutors, teaching assistants, SEN specialists, learning or behaviour mentors, or graduates with relevant experience.
- Experience working with pupils who have autism, ADHD, EHCPs, anxiety or school avoidance is highly desirable.
- Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo enhanced DBS and reference checks.
