Two HLTA Positions – Primary School Support in Southwark

About the role

We are looking for two Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join a welcoming primary school in Southwark. The role starts in September (earlier start possible) and involves supporting teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions for pupils who need additional support.
• Provide classroom assistance and help maintain a positive learning environment.
• Cover classes when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of instruction.
• Build constructive relationships with pupils, teachers, and support staff.
• Adapt support strategies to the needs of different year groups.

Required profile

• Confident, proactive and passionate about children’s development.
• Experience covering classes and leading learning in a primary setting.
• HLTA qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take on greater responsibility.
