UI Designer – Design Systems

About the role

AJ Bell is expanding its Design System team and is looking for a UI Designer to help shape the future of its award‑winning digital platforms. Reporting to the Design System Lead, you will work on the direct‑to‑consumer AJ Bell platform, creating and maintaining a large‑scale design system for both mobile and web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Create and iterate design system components in Figma, applying interaction design best practices.
• Produce high‑quality, responsive UI designs that balance usability, accessibility and visual delight.
• Document components, manage design tokens and maintain the component library.
• Contribute to design system strategy and support decision‑making across product teams.
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, developers and product managers to champion system adoption.
• Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a UX/UI role.
• Strong understanding of front‑end practices and atomic design principles.
• Excellent knowledge of Figma, including auto‑layout, components, variables and library management.
• Creative, inquisitive and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator with a collaborative, iterative mindset.
