Underwriter – UK Property & Casualty

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing London market MGA to strengthen its underwriting team. The Underwriter – UK P&C will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating and pricing commercial property and casualty risks across the United Kingdom, working directly with brokers and carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and underwrite new UK P&C business opportunities in line with the company’s growth strategy.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and insurance carriers.
• Assess risk exposures, set pricing, negotiate terms and ensure profitable placement.
• Make autonomous underwriting decisions while adhering to underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with the broader underwriting and claims teams to deliver seamless service to clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a broker‑facing underwriting role within the UK P&C market.
• Established network of broker contacts and a commercial mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive growth.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
