About the role
The Underwriting Assistant will support the Cyber division in delivering the business plan, developing products and managing the cyber portfolio. You will work closely with underwriters, brokers and the Cyber Centre of Excellence to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist underwriters with pre‑underwriting tasks, slip administration, record keeping and reporting.
- Review new and renewal cyber risks, attend client underwriting meetings and document outcomes.
- Conduct cyber application and slip analysis, perform rating analyses and monitor premiums.
- Maintain compliance with underwriting risk appetite, syndicate and regulatory procedures.
- Oversee onboarding and maintenance of coverholders according to Delegated Authority standards.
- Prepare statistical reports and support new business opportunities through broker and client liaison.
- Contribute to product development from idea to launch and assist in rating model assessment.
- Monitor cyber risk trends with the Cyber Centre of Excellence and assist with annual product review assessments.
Required profile
- Professional approach aligned with Chaucer’s values.
- Knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and awareness of cyber threats such as ransomware and phishing.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends and support risk assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player committed to delivering excellent customer service.
- Adaptable, willing to learn and capable of prioritising multiple tasks.
- Minimum education: 3 ‘A’ Levels.
